Ready to join in? We are looking for a full - time Certified Athletic Trainer to support a primary care sports medicine physician who specializes in non-surgical treatment of acute, overuse, and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and communication skills. The position includes working in a clinical setting, within a collaborative healthcare model. Responsible for providing administrative and clinical assistance with the provider including but not limited to patient intake and pre-screening, assistance to patients and clinical staff in the full scope of Orthopedic services. The position will be based at the outpatient clinic in Westchester, IL. Candidate must be flexible to travel to Naperville, IL and Oak Park, IL as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Under physician supervision evaluate patients by collecting patient health information to better allow the provider to implement/design a plan of care, patient diagnosis, and overall treatment plan.
  • Assist in documenting clinic notes including reconciling medical history, collecting patient history, documenting physical exams, and completing care plans based on provider preferences.
  • Communicate with physicians, physical therapists, and other clinical staff regarding patients’ conditions and treatment protocols.
  • Manage and coordinate clinical schedule as directed by provider.
  • Assist in coordinating appropriate follow ups and subsequent injury tracking as needed.
  • Develop rehabilitation and treatment plans based on physician recommendations.
  • Return messages from patients and clinical staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide educational tools and counsel patients/families regarding strengthening, health maintenance, and further injury prevention.
  • Complete special projects as directed by provider.
  • Flexibility to travel with physician for clinic
  • Comply with all state and federal laws including HIPAA, ADA, OSHA, and FLSA.

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
  • Graduate of approved NATA school/accredited program
  • Clinical experience preferred
  • Ability to work in fast paced environments

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

  • CPR/First Aid certified
  • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Illinois
