Job Description:

The Associate Vice President of University Partnerships (AVP) is responsible for cultivating new university partnerships for both degree and non-degree programs at Emeritus within the United States and Canada. The AVP will be a key player in establishing relationships on new campuses and taking potential deals from lead generation to contract signing and will also pursue new degree opportunities with existing partners.


The ideal candidate will have experience in higher education space, preferably in a partner management or sales role for a university or institutional accrediting body. The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience presenting to and working with senior level, university administrators at the President, Chancellor, Provost, and Dean levels.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with prospective university partners via personal network, organic lead development, paid lead development and cold call outreach.
  • Develop relationships with university leaders on campuses Emeritus looks to develop new partnership opportunities.
  • Present digital strategy and digital engagement opportunities for both degree and non-degree programs to Dean’s, Associate Deans, Faculty Groups, and Staff members across engaged schools.
  • Present on-the-ground strategy and engagement opportunities for degree programs to Chancellors, Presidents, Provosts, and Dens across engaged institutions.
  • Develop, refine and present detailed financial proformas to prospective partners and creating economic agreements that are “win-win” for both university and Emeritus.
  • Create transition plans for hand-off of new partnerships from the business development team to the program partnership team.
  • Identify new business opportunities in the degree and non-degree market.
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows, as assigned and needed, to generate business intel and business development opportunities.
  • Ability to travel to campuses for meetings as well as conferences


Compensation and Benefits:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The compensation for this role is comprised of a base salary and a variable component, with the base salary ranging between $135,000 - $185,000 with the opportunity to earn commission on successful business transactions. Compensation will be determined on several factors including but not limited to location, skills, experience and may vary from the range listed above. Additional compensation includes industry leading benefits Emeritus provides, such as a comprehensive benefits package, 401K savings plan, company holidays, flexible PTO, parental leave, and education benefits just to name a few.
