Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing and managing fundraising initiatives to support the university's mission and goals. Responsible for department strategic planning, donor cultivation, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful fundraising campaigns.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and guidance to the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
  • Sets performance goals and metrics for the team, regularly evaluating progress and adjusting as necessary
  • Develops and implements comprehensive fundraising strategies in alignment with university goals
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to identify funding priorities and opportunities for donor engagement
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other key stakeholders
  • Develops and executes comprehensive fundraising plans
  • Oversees the development budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with fundraising goals
  • Monitors and reports on financial performance related to development activities
  • Ensures compliance with relevant fundraising regulations and ethical standards
  • Prepares and presents regular reports on fundraising activities to senior leadership and board members
  • Leads development operations including process improvement and executive administration functions
  • Represents the Vice President for Advancement & CEO of the KSU Foundation at various meetings, functions and events.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Other Required Qualifications

Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license

Required Experience

Eight (8) years of relevant experience in development, fundraising, or a related field, including experience in progressively responsible leaderships roles within development or related area.

Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

KNOWLEDGE

Proven experience in fundraising and development, with a track record of successful donor engagement and gift solicitation

Skills

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills

Strategic thinking Strong leadership and team management skills.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)

Strong attention to detail and follow up skills

Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
