Description of Duties
Title: Associate Technical designer
Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Range*: $27.00/hr-$35.00/hr
Location: Onsite Van Nuys, CA Hybrid* (in office minimum 4 days/week)
Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00AM-5:30PM
This role is responsible for performing tasks to both assist and fulfill the technical design team daily functions and members of the technical design team in completing various projects. They are responsible for preparing for all aspects of fittings, properly executing fit comments, effectively communicating with all vendors, processing documents, conducting research and analyses, coordinating with different teams, organizing documents and maintaining records, which are all done to support the production of product samples.
Responsibilities
Understand various aspects of technical design for every collection and develop a fit comment document for all garment components, including fit, fabric, construction, stitch, and trim
Support delivery of high-quality products in fit, styling, detail, and functionality
Review grading and patterns
Manage and track seasonal deliverables
Log fit samples, update all corresponding team wip report
Prepare for all aspects of fittings for their respective styles
Prepare fit list and fit status recaps before and after each fitting
Update comments after fittings to reflect fit status recap
Create / catalog final production pattern library for future development
Request patterns as needed for new development and send to requested vendors
Ship fit samples and reference samples as needed
Photograph all fit samples during fitting and upload to share folder for cross functional team visibility
Measure garments accurately to identify any fit issues and execute fit comments efficiently to remain on schedule with production
Lead and/or attend fit sessions, provide recommendations, note callouts, and assist as needed in logging critiques to accurately and efficiently address all issues
Assist with vendor communication
Ability to manage styles from development through production
Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
At least 3-8 years of experience in apparel technical design
Excellent organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented; highly detail oriented
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Extremely honest and trustworthy with highest integrity
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines, balance creativity with technical capability, and interpret design sketches for tech packs

Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation
Periods sitting at a desk, typing and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Able to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time
Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones
Must be able to access various areas of a given location
