Associate Technical Designer

Associate Technical Designer:

Central Park West Clothing is looking for an associate level technical designer with a focus in sweaters to join their New York design team. This person would support the lead technical designer and would also focus on handling the fit for sweaters and knits category.

What this role is about

· Supporting the Senior Technical Designer for Central Park West Clothing brand

· Taking notes during live fittings

· Specing garments for CPW womens and CPW kids

· Taking on the fit process and comments in Excel techpacks for sportswear for

womens and kids division

· Fit corrections in Adobe Illustrator

· Communicate with vendors on fit comments through email

· Working with the production team to ensure all fit samples are being received

and evaluated in a timely manner

· Checking in samples, organizing fit list/order of fit samples, prepping of fit

samples as they come in

Candidate requirements

· Bachelors or Associates degree in Fashion design or Patternmaking or

Technical Design

· 3 + years in technical design for womens apparel in sweaters and knits

· Knowledge of a variety of categories including but with focus on sweaters and knits

· A keen eye for detail and and design; ideally has some design experience with

a high taste level

· Clear and efficient written and verbal skills; must be good at communicating

with overseas vendors and cross functional departments within the office

· Ability to asses full workload and prioritize accordingly

· Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator as well as Microsoft excel.
