We are looking for a highly motivated protein biochemist to join our Therapeutic Discovery group in our South San Francisco office. The desired candidate will be responsible for purification and characterization of recombinant proteins and antibodies to support the pipeline.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and execute protein purification experiments from mammalian cell culture using variety of chromatography methods including affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion etc.
  • Perform standard analytical techniques to assess final protein quality, such as SDS-PAGE, endotoxin and concentration measurement, analytic HPLC, DSF, etc.
  • Maintain laboratory records, procedures, and experimental data.
  • Presents results of work in group meeting.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • BS or MS degree in related scientific discipline required.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar role.
  • Must be self-motivated, attention to detail, organized, motivated, and be able to work independently in a collaborative team-oriented setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with protein purification instruments (AKTA series) and common characterization method.
  • Experience with biophysical characterization method and affinity measurement is desired.
    Ability to work in a dynamic research environment with change and evolving specifications and requirements.
Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, documentation, organization, good record keeping and writing reports.
  • Curiosity to learn new skills and ability to rapidly acquire technical excellence.
  • Able to work independently yet collaborate within a team environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:None.
Equipment To Be Used:Laptop computer, other office equipment, and/or lab equipment.
Typical Physical Demands:Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
Working Conditions:Works in a typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. Travel as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range:$65,000 - $100,000
