POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a highly motivated and collaborative scientist to join our molecular biology group in our South San Francisco office. The desired candidate will be joining a multidisciplinary team to develop novel therapeutic molecules including antibody and multi-specificity modality. The desired candidate will be working both independently and with cross-function teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Education:
Supervisory Responsibilities:None.
Equipment To Be Used:Laptop computer, other office equipment, and/or lab equipment.
Typical Physical Demands:Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment.
Working Conditions:Works in a typical office setting. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. Travel as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary Range:$65,000 - $100,000

The desired candidate will be working both independently and with cross-function teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply molecular biology techniques to generate DNA constructs for research and therapeutic proteins.
- Primer design and PCR (including site-specific mutagenesis and seamless DNA assembly).
- Gel extraction and purification, plasmid prep (mini to giga scale), and Sanger sequencing results analysis.
- E.coli transformation and colony picking.
- Document and maintain plasmid inventory and library.
- Faithfully record experiment results.
- Interact closely with and hand off gene constructs to the downstream stakeholders.
- Participate in team initiatives and always remain open to learning new skills.
Education:
- BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related fields. Relevant experience in an industry setting is highly desired.
- 1 year of hands-on experience in molecular biology (DNA cloning, PCR, Gibson assembly, etc.).
- Extensive experience with antibody and therapeutic molecule production and familiarity with high throughput cloning methods is highly desired.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills, documentation, organization, good record keeping and writing reports.
- Curiosity to learn new skills and ability to rapidly acquire technical excellence.
- Able to work independently yet collaborate within a team environment.
