Associate Scientist / Senior Research Associate – Biology
Role Summary
We are currently searching for an Associate Scientist / Senior Research Associate with experience in cell-based assays and animal management to join the Oligonucleotide team. The successful candidate will help execute and analyze cell-based assays, assist in developing and onboarding new biochemical and cell-based assays, and assist in mouse colony management.
Responsibilities:
Work in a cross functional team to advance ASO or siRNA knockdown modalities for therapeutic applications.
Plan and execute experiments to evaluate and optimize oligonucleotide design in cell-based assays.
Participate in the design and scaling of assays for drug candidate screening in cell based assays.
Analyze and interpret data from molecular pharmacology studies.
Assist in mouse colony management and tissue collection.
Maintain detailed records of experiments.
Attend and present data at internal team meetings.
Skills and Requirements:
BS/MS in biology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, or related discipline with 3+ years of postgraduate research experience in an academic or industry setting.
Experience in cell and molecular biology including mammalian cell culture, mRNA isolation/quantitation by qPCR, sequencing (NGS/Sanger), protein quantification by ELISA and western blot is required.
Experience with animal colony management, animal handling, in vivo surgeries, and in vivo protocol writing is highly desired.
Handson experience in working with samples in 96- or 384-well plate format is desired.
Familiarity with CNS disease models, DNA/RNA editing tools, and oligonucleotide therapeutics is a plus.
Outstanding aptitude for experimental design and execution, efficient assay development and creative problem solving.
Capacity to be highly productive in a fluid and fastpaced work environment.
