JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the academic and operational management of the program in collaboration with the Director of the PA Program. The Associate Program Director will serve as a mentor to new faculty in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service. The associate program director generates and delivers classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within the essential medical and clinical science topics based on the individual’s qualifications. Manage the program in collaboration with the Director of the PA Program and the Medical Director. The associate program director will participate in the program's admissions process. Maintain awareness of the PA profession. Participate in service to the program and healthcare profession.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ADMINISTRATIVE:

Assist with directing all operations and strategic planning for the PA program. Assist with directing and managing staff in the program. Demonstrate effective leadership through effective communication and problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in the program.

TEACHING:

Responsible for generating and delivering classroom learning experiences and clinical skills instruction within the basic medical and clinical science topics based on the individual’s qualifications. Course assignments to be determined in collaboration with the Director of the PA Program, School Dean, and individual faculty, according to unit and university requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED EDUCATION: (education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity): A PA who is NCCPA certified and eligible for a license in Kansas; Must possess a master's or doctorate to teach at the master’s level.


EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity) At least 2 years in higher education. At least 3 years as a PA.
