Job Title: Associate Production Manager
Job Duties: Ahlstrom Nonwovens LLC seeks Associate Production Manager in Windsor Locks, CT to lead continuous improvement and quality assurance of the production of high-performance materials. Manage the day-to-day activities necessary to produce specialty products. Provide daily preplanning and communication with Scheduling, Receiving, Quality Control, Product Development, Maintenance and other departments for production quality and continuity. Responsible for entire manufacturing process from raw material to shipping including P&L. Ensure efficient and economical use of raw materials, systems, labor and equipment in the manufacturing of specialty products through planning and implementation of productivity improvement programs. Develop and issue product specifications. Develop and implement capital lists and operating goals and objectives for area of responsibility. Maintain ISO, safety and environmental compliance. Manage performance and costs of clothing, labor, raw materials and other related production processes. Manages assigned staff. Provide coaching, support and regular feedback to staff. Prepare and conduct performance reviews. Act as a management resource for other production areas and company locations. Provide performance feedback and develop careers of direct reports. Develop and implement strategies to utilize the capabilities of the technical staff. Contribute to manufacturing strategic planning and policy making through participation in manufacturing staff activities. Key performance indicators include productivity, conversion costs, uptime, waste, yield, quality complaints, fixed costs, OTAPIF, Schedule Adherence, Lead Time, safety and environmental metrics. Drive functional excellence throughout the Value Stream: maximizing efficient asset utilization, accelerate inventory velocity and support activities to reduce conversion costs. Develop and/or qualify new test methods and conduct repeatability studies to determine test results and significant figures. Submit defect analysis for internal issues and complaint investigation to outside labs. Ensure workmanship audits are performed in converting, finished goods inventory, and shipping. May travel to various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States. Annual Salary: $103,970
Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of materials engineering experience in: 1) Serving as the primary interface with Maintenance, Engineering, Product Design, Quality Control, Purchasing and other departments to ensure efficiency of machine operations, 2) Ensuring efficient and economical use of raw materials, systems, labor and equipment in the manufacturing of specialty products through planning and implementation of productivity improvement programs, 3) Developing and issuing product specifications, 4) Capital project experience, 5) Implementing, facilitating and maintaining training programs, 6) Experience with ISO and FDA compliance, 7) Identifying process improvements and instituting improvement programs for established product lines, 8) Manufacturing strategic planning and policy making through participation in manufacturing staff activities, and 9) Performing key performance indicators of productivity, waste, quality complaints, safety and environmental metrics.
