Are you looking for a flexible job opportunity where you can work from the comfort of your own home? We're seeking a dedicated Patient Care Coordinator to join our team, providing essential support to patients and healthcare providers.

Role And Responsibilities

As a Patient Care Coordinator, your key duties will include:

Insurance Verification: Verify, re-verify, and authorize patient insurance coverage and eligibility using a computer-based patient registration/scheduling system. Update demographic, insurance, and other patient information, and track patient encounter forms.

Patient Interaction: Receive and address patient-care related telephone calls, provide routine information on procedures and standard policies, and refer matters to the appropriate department.

Problem Resolution: Identify priority issues, respond to emergency needs by contacting or interrupting physicians/providers as per guidelines.

Patient Support: Resolve patient questions regarding clinic schedules and billing concerns, handle prescription refill requests, reschedule appointments, and document information in the computer system.

Chart Preparation: Prepare patient charts by locating test results, reminding patients of appointments, and ensuring all necessary forms are included.

Referral Management: Enter new referrals, link existing referral numbers in the system, and educate patients about managed care plans and referral processes.

Collaboration: Work with primary care practices, patients, and specialty practices to process outgoing referrals, follow up on delayed referrals, and handle denied referrals by documenting information and assisting with alternative care plans.

Scheduling Coordination: Complete and maintain patient schedules, coordinate patient visits and medical procedures, and communicate with patients about scheduled appointments.

Communication: Notify providers, patients, and others of schedule changes, maintain recall lists, and communicate with patients as needed.

Administrative Guidance: Provide guidance to medical office personnel on administrative policies and procedures, and comply with health and safety requirements and regulatory agencies.

Professional Development: Enhance professional growth through educational programs and seminars, attend required meetings and conferences.

Attendance: Maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

Qualifications

Required:

High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

1+ years of customer service, healthcare, and/or administrative experience

Preferred

Additional specialized medical secretarial/medical office training

Superior customer service skills with the ability to multitask and resolve patient concerns efficiently

Critical thinking and sound judgment

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Familiarity with software applications like Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel

EPIC and Medical terminology knowledge

Telecommuter Requirements

Adherence to our Telecommuter Policy is required.

Salary Information

The hourly range for certain states (CA, CO, NV, CT, NY, NJ, RI, WA) is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour, based on factors like local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (eligibility requirements apply).
