Associate Packaging Engineer
The Associate Packaging Engineer is expected to support the new product development and industrialization of 10 new projects per season and provide packaging expertise and support for an active catalog of about 300 skus. There will be an emphasis on secondary and tertiary packaging projects as well as data management. The position will work closely with product development, suppliers, planning, sourcing, production, and contract fillers through all phases of the development process.
Responsibilities:
Identify creative and innovative packaging options and decoration that fit the voice of the brand and meet the vision of the Creative development team
Develop case pack and palletized loads specifications for product launches
Support development launches with transit testing needs
Manage within the timelines of new product development process
Work with contract fillers and production team to ensure project feasibility
Create range boards as appropriate
Review and approve component submissions during development
Provide strong cross-department communication regarding new product launches
Support the package development team with daily responsibilities
Contribute to the management of packaging data and system implementations
Requirements:
Minimum 6 months packaging internship/co-op experience, preferably in the beauty or personal care industry
Strong core package engineering skills and disciplines
Ability to operate efficiently and multi-task
Superior organization, communication, consensus building and sense of task urgency skills
Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Ability to adapt quickly and learn new software tools/systems
Limited traveling required
Packaging/Mechanical engineering degree or similar
