Associate or Full Professor of Practice of Hospitality Management

Job Summary

The College of Business at The University of Texas at Arlington is launching a new program and inviting applications for the Associate or Full Professor of Practice of Hospitality Management. The individual will be appointed as an Associate or Full Professor of Practice of Hospitality Management. This is a non-tenure earning position.

We seek a visionary leader with an academic background in hospitality and extensive experience in managing and leading hospitality enterprises. The Associate or Full Professor of Practice will build a hospitality management program that includes a certificate and a four-year bachelor’s degree program.

Much of the Associate or Full Professor of Practice’s time will involve effective communications with program stakeholders, including members of a program advisory board and executives of enterprises in the hospitality industry. The Associate or Full Professor of Practice of Hospitality Management will be expected to create and build relationships with industry partners throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

While an earned doctorate in hospitality, or related field, is preferred, a masters degree with executive experience in the hospitality industry is qualified. Candidates should be proven high performance contributors, willing to build relationships with faculty, students, administrative officials, and the hospitality industry.

Required Qualifications

Candidate will have an earned master’s degree in hospitality management or related degree from an accredited ( AACSB and/or ACPHA ) university and hospitality enterprise leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

An appropriate doctoral degree in hospitality management (or a related field) with at least five years experience working as a manager or executive in the hospitality field or experience directing a hospitality management program in an academic setting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Teach courses in the Hospitality Management program. Participate in a Hospitality Management course and curriculum development. Oversee and participate in actions and decisions in student recruitment, admission, and enrollment. Create and coordinate a Hospitality Management Advisory Board. Provide administrative leadership of the Hospitality Management program in the College of Business. Maintain appropriate AACSB and SACCS faculty qualifications as defined by the College of Business.
