Your role in helping us shape the future:

U.S. News empowers everyone to thrive. In this position, you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths and skills to help people make smart decisions about buying insurance. The 360 Reviews Associate Insurance Editor will work on several types of insurance, including auto, home, life, pet, and renters, using our unique 360 approach of unbiased, data-driven reviews.

The 360 Reviews team operates as a startup within the larger U.S. News organization, giving it a fast-moving, innovative culture, along with the stability of an established and respected media company. Members of the team have the opportunity to have a real impact on the development and direction of a U.S. News product.

Collaborating with an enthusiastic team of researchers, producers, product managers, SEO analysts, and editors, the 360 Reviews Associate Insurance Editor will manage, edit, and write content that includes in-depth guides and product profile pages.

Though 360 Reviews is based in our Washington, D.C. office, this position is open to remote workers.


Are you up to the challenge?

  • Assist editors in creating content outlines that maximize SEO
  • Research and fact check content
  • Write content updates for live pages
  • Edit 360 review content, guides, and profile pages for flow, consistency, tone, audience, brevity, accuracy, grammar, and AP style
  • QA insurance pages to ensure top-quality, error free work
  • Work in the U.S. News CMS
  • Requirements


    You should definitely have:

    • One year to three years of similar or related experience, plus strong copy editing skills
    • A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
    • Burning desire to help consumers make smart decisions about their insurance products.
    • Utmost attention to detail and the ability to prioritize when managing multiple tasks
    • Ability to research and copy edit content on complex insurance topics
    • Ability to learn new subjects quickly
    • Proficiency in AP Style
    • Moderate knowledge of SEO best practices
    • Excellent communication and organization skills
    • A self-starter mentality identifying opportunities to improve content and better engage our audience
    • Ability to manage your project timelines and meet multiple deadlines


    It would be nice if you had:

    • Experience writing and editing for SEO
    • Experience working in a content management system

    • In New York City, the anticipated base salary for this position is $50,000 - $60,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, interview performance, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
