Associate Director, Threat Management and Investigations

Job Description


We are very excited to have been retained by one of the largest law firms in the world, working with them to identify a talented individual who will be responsible for setting up a threat management and investigations programme globally. This is a new role within the organisation, where you be playing a fundamental part in the growth and development of the broader security programme.


Reporting into the Director of Physical Security, the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad remit, including conducting investigations related to both internal and external security concerns, threats, incidents and more. The position is also responsible for the firm’s workplace violence prevention and threat management functions.


Responsibilities include


  • Partnering with Human Resources and other key stakeholders, in order to conduct internal and external investigations relating to potentially sensitive personnel matters.
  • Document investigations into written reports, advancing the further development of a mature incident reporting process.
  • Conduct threat assessments related to safety and security of personnel. Coordinate activities to mitigate threats and ensure the protection of personnel.
  • Take direct oversight of the threat management program and coordination between key stakeholders, to include Human Resources and Office of the General Counsel.
  • Review and examine anomalous communications to include mail, email, and voice messages for concerning patterns and behaviors.
  • Conduct interviews with internal and external personnel.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain security policies and procedures related to employee conduct in furtherance of workplace safety and violence prevention.
  • Make and maintain connections with local, state, and federal law enforcement.
  • Facilitate training on threat management matters related to further develop the overall threat management program.


The candidate profile


Candidates will ideally have had a career within the FBI or USSS, combined with some experience within the private sector. Ideally applicants will possess a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Criminal Justice, Investigations, Security, or Business Administration.

  • Practical interview and interrogation experience and certification.

  • Handles multiple tasks and manage a fast-paced environment when needed.
  • Ability to maintain positive, professional working relationships with other staff, vendors, attorneys, clients, and external parties at all levels.
  • Must be able to make quick and accurate decisions under stress.
  • Is flexible regarding scheduled hours/days of work.


Technologies/Software


  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Experience with report writing software and databases
  • Experience with threat assessment tools, methodologies, and software


Certificates, Licensures, Registrations


  • Federal law enforcement training with specialized experience in investigations required.
