The Cell Engineering & Analytical Sciences group within biologics development is seeking a highly skilled and motivated cell and genome engineering senior level researcher to join our research and development team. You will play a crucial role in understanding and mapping cellular protein synthesis and degradation pathways and executing and implementing paradigm shifting platform for the development of high expressing production cell lines for non-natural amino acid containing proteins. This is a hands-on leadership role with the potentiality to lead a team of 3-4 researchers. We work in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment and collaborate with multi-functional teams, including biologics discovery, cell line development, analytical sciences and cell culture process development. Your expertise in cell and genome engineering will help drive the advancement of our biopharmaceutical pipeline and provide you with the opportunity to learn and grow through your interactions with experts in a wide variety of disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
- An experienced and hands-on leader to lead a core team to develop non-natural amino acid expression technologies, utilizing cutting edge cell engineering concepts and techniques
- Versatility in cell and genome engineering with proven track record of success
- Experience with developing assay systems to screen the right cell phenotype for nnAA based platform
- Drive improvements in product quantity and quality through innovative metabolic pathway engineering in manufacturing cell lines
- Interface with CLD workstream and team for seamless translation of technology development work for pipeline application
- Knows the technological and IP landscape of biomanufacturing to drive near and long term value creation
- Effective people manager with experience running a high performing team
- Prepare and present scientific findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders, project teams, and senior management.
- Ph.D. in life sciences or a related field with 5-8 years of experience, MS with 12 years.
- Strong background and hands-on experience in cell line development, cell and pathway engineering, assay development, and large scale data analysis & visualization.
- Proficiency in CHO cell based cell line development and manipulations
- Good understanding and proficiency in cellular pathways involved with high titer and quality of biotherapeutic proteins
- Solid understanding of cell and molecular biology techniques for recombinant protein expression.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Leadership experience leading focused scientific teams
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively present scientific findings and recommendations.
- Experience leveraging NGS, proteomics/proteogenomics and high-throughput automation platforms.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools for data interpretation including multi-omics data sets. Applying systems biology approaches to generating hypothesis from multi-omics data sets.
- Prior experience in the biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
