About the Role:


The Associate Director of Development will lead renewable energy projects in the CAISO and WECC regions, managing project teams, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder relationships to ensure timely and on-budget project delivery. Reporting to the Head of Development, this role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams including finance, engineering, GIS, real estate, permitting, transmission/interconnection, and revenue contract origination.


Key responsibilities include:


- Overseeing the development lifecycle of large and complex renewable energy projects from initiation to construction.

- Managing real estate aspects of mid to late stage projects, including title commitments, closing processes, lease agreements, land purchases, easements, and lot adjustments.

- Acquiring necessary permits for construction and operation of utility-scale projects.

- Handling interconnection applications and maintaining relationships with utilities and ISO/RTO from application to commercial operation.

- Supporting project sale, debt, and equity closings, ensuring land control documents and agreements meet finance thresholds.

- Acting as the primary gatekeeper for project budgets, schedules, risk management, and other essential functions.

- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless project execution.

- Developing dashboards and standardized project schedule templates to optimize operations.



Desired Qualifications:


The ideal candidate should possess:


- A Bachelor's Degree or higher in business, urban planning, engineering, environmental, or finance-related fields.

- 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate development, or construction.

- Demonstrated experience in land development, entitlement, permitting, and interconnection for utility-scale renewable energy projects.

- Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule management.

- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

- Effective communication skills with various stakeholders.

- Strong preparation, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.

- Professionalism in internal and external communications.

- Decision-making bias toward action.

- A valid driving license.

- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time within the United States as required by project needs.


The company offers competitive compensation, including a salary range of $160,000 – $215,000 plus bonuses, based on qualifications and experience.
