Job Summary And Qualifications

As the Associate Director of Curriculum & Instruction, you will support quality student learning by working closely with the Director of Curriculum and Faculty Development and college faculty to develop and enhance nursing program curricula. Your focus will include content creation, course management, improving student learning outcomes, and ensuring success. You will provide leadership and guidance to the campus Curriculum Committee and College-wide course meetings.

Position Responsibilities

Curriculum Development:

Lead faculty in developing nursing courses using evidence-based teaching and active learning strategies.

Ensure effective implementation of course content in collaboration with faculty.

Revise curriculum based on data, performance, learner needs, and healthcare trends.

Work with Test Development Specialists to create content-valid classroom exams linked to student learning outcomes and the Detailed Test Plan.

Guide faculty in using assessment data to enhance the teaching-learning process.

Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) to develop and use multiple assessment methods to evaluate student and program outcomes.

Assist in developing a formal faculty teaching effectiveness evaluation system based on pass rates, program student learning outcomes, and student progression and retention.

Ensure courses adhere to best practices and organizational policies.

Maintain accuracy and effectiveness of course syllabi.

Develop and implement standardized curriculum and teaching plans.

Present at faculty development meetings and conferences to demonstrate excellence in nursing education.

Position Requirements

Education: Minimum of a master's degree in nursing education required (doctoral degree preferred), with a focus on curriculum and instructional design.

Experience: At least four years of full-time teaching experience and two years of curriculum development experience.

Skills: Excellent communication (writing and speaking), problem-solving, organizational skills, and experience in facilitating team collaboration. Proficiency with technology and learning management systems.

Special Qualifications: Proven experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and knowledge of regional and programmatic accreditation. Strong leadership skills for facilitating curriculum development and evaluation.

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment

Requires mental activity such as reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making.

Minimal physical demands in classroom and office settings; occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Frequent use of standard office equipment.

Possible travel required.

Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
