Job Description

  • We are looking for a highly motivated Medical Affairs Director who is passionate about patient-centric HIV care, treatment, prevention, and Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with a proven track record of success in prior roles.
  • They will play a critical and exciting role in helping the US Medical Affairs organization support current HIV Treatment therapies and launch future HIV pipeline products. The Director will report to the US HIV Treatment Strategy Lead and will work directly with the US and Global teams.
  • The Medical Affairs Director, HIV Treatment, will report directly to the Senior Director, Strategy Lead for US HIV Treatment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy and execution of USMA HIV Treatment.

Essential Duties And Job Functions

  • Monitor and understand the rapidly changing HIV treatment landscape
  • Capture insights systematically, both internal and external, and translate these insights into actionable activities
  • As a content manager and product expert, serves as a key contributor and knowledge expert for HIV treatment and prevention for multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with the Global MA HIV treatment and prevention teams to review, update, and provide insight into Medical Affairs slide decks and local and global HIV Treatment response documents
  • Creates US-focused medical training documents as needed to support field Medical Scientists
  • Works collaboratively with Medical Scientists, Medical Information, Clinical Research, and Clinical Pharmacology and Commercial to support responses to medical inquiries and slide development
  • Supports US and Global advisory programs, as needed
  • Supports the Senior Director in developing and execute the US Plan of Action and ensure alignment of team activities and cross-functional projects
  • Support the implementation of MA/MS strategies and tactics for HCPs including medical educational activities, grants and investigator-sponsored/collaborative studies and adjust tactical execution as needed
  • Attend medical conferences to assess/gather relevant information and support activities related to conference deck development and trainings
  • Independently manage projects related to the analysis of novel, emerging data and determine relevant information to incorporate into medical content training
  • Works collaboratively with Medical Scientists, Medical Information, Clinical Research, and Clinical Pharmacology and Commercial to support responses to medical inquiries and slide development for conferences
  • Partner cross functionally with Legal, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Public and Government Affairs, lead cross-functional projects as needed
  • Support US Biktarvy HCP marketing team with strategic and medical insight prior to Promotional Review Committee review
  • Provide recommendations for resource allocation to adjust accordingly
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies

Basic Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, visual communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with experience in vendor contracting and preparing budgets, misc. Excel spreadsheets, and delivering PowerPoint presentations
  • Experience in the provision of, medical information, slide development, medical writing, and project and conference management required
  • Proven strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to travel as required which may include occasional weekend travel, is required
  • Ability to flex and adapt as necessary in response to ongoing growth and change within the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, or other advanced health care degree with 8+ years of experience; in industry preferred.
  • Relevant clinical experience in HIV is required
  • Experienced with patient-centric care desired
  • Committed to continuing education to maintain a knowledge base
  • Required Years of Experience: 3+ years experience
  • Top 3 Required Skill Sets: Internal process (PRC, contracting, HIV strategy)
  • Top 3 Nice to Have Skill Sets: Research, POA and conference planning
  • Unique Selling Point of this role: fast paced, generally autonomous, intellectually challenging
