The Implementation Project Manager bridges the gap between business development and operations for Mercalis. The position is part of the organization’s Design & Implementation Team and the role is responsible for driving the successful implementation and cross-functional execution of newly awarded patient support programs. The position is a key resource that guides program implementations and helps solidy solution strategies through the creation of program documentation sets and timelines. The role is also responsible for helping Mercalis establish best practices and operational processes that support operational efficiency and the production of a replicable methodology for implementing client programs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with business development team members to ensure successful transition of clients post-sale through program launch
  • Lead the implementation of complex, integrated patient support programs from verbal award through the design and implementation of services
  • Drive the implementation of assigned patient support programs, ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Create detailed project plans, action and decision logs, meeting minutes and status reports for assigned patient support programs during the implementation period
  • Establish internal and external meetings and ensure appropriate subject matter experts are in attendance based on meeting agenda topics and purpose
  • Communicate project milestones, scope of deliverables, implementation workstream structure, program critical success factors, program risks and mitigation strategies when necessary
  • Plan and execute implementation of patient support programs according to agreed upon deadlines, including acquisition of resources and coordinating the efforts of internal and external team members and third-party contractors (if applicable)
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional team members to accomplish required tasks and obtain project updates in adherence to timelines and scope.
  • Responsible for detecting and escalating implementation challenges when necessary
  • Understand issue dependencies, risks, and impacts to program implementation and drive the development of risk mitigation plans with internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Develop strong working relationships with all areas of the business, including business development, client services and other shared services verticals across the Mercalis
  • Develop and deliver at the appropriate frequency, status reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Support template development and creation of new implementation standards as appropriate
  • Conduct lessons learned meetings and provide recommendations for process improvement to internal stakeholders and integrate appropriate recommendations into the best practices for implementation management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 1 to 3 years relevant industry experience in supporting, program managing or operating patient support programs
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a project management or implementation capacity supporting patient support programs including all aspects such as project creation, project management, risk mitigation, execution, and program closure
  • PMP, PPM or CSM desired but not required
  • Exceptional organizational skills required to lead, prioritize, and execute multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously to completion
  • Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to change
  • Ability to command a group of individuals in a room quickly and assertively while maintaining positive relationships.
  • Lead and direct internal and external teams in a cross-functional capacity and ability to align cross-functional resources to a common goal
  • Business acumen to understand the value Mercalis solutions bring to our clients and have the ability to become the client advocate within Mercalis
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills to successfully execute on program execution
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to interact with a diverse team including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Must be skilled at conflict resolution and proficient at delivering tough messages to clients and internal team members
  • Ability to work flexible hours to make project deliverables and program launches successful
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
