We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director/Director of Business Development to join our team and drive our strategic growth initiatives.

Position Summary

The Associate Director/Director of Business Development will play a pivotal role in shaping, supporting, and executing HiFiBiO Therapeutics’ business development strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of the biopharmaceutical landscape, particularly in antibody therapeutics and immunotherapies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in licensing, strategic partnerships, and driving business growth within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning, Analysis, and Execution:
  • Support business development team to drive company strategies and innovative solutions towards successful implementation.
  • Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and licensing agreements.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics within the immunotherapy landscape.
  • Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies to inform business development strategies.
  • Licensing and Partnerships:
  • Support and lead negotiations and manage the end-to-end process of in-licensing and out-licensing agreements, ensuring alignment with internal strategic goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, and other potential partners.
  • Oversee and manage strategic alliances, ensuring effective collaboration, mutual benefit, and the achievement of shared objectives through proactive relationship management, conflict resolution, and continuous performance evaluation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, legal, finance, and communications, to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development initiatives.
  • Provide strategic input to senior management and contribute to corporate strategy discussions.
  • Financial and Contractual Oversight:
  • Develop financial models and business cases to support decision-making processes.
  • Oversee the negotiation and drafting of term sheets, agreements, and contracts.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a related field (PhD, MBA, or equivalent preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships within the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven track record in successfully negotiating and closing licensing deals and strategic alliances.
  • Deep understanding of antibody therapeutics and immunotherapies.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills and a comfort level interacting with senior executives.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to understand complex scientific ideas and effectively communicate with key internal and external stakeholders in exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues across countries and cultures.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • The candidate is required to work on-site at HiFiBiO Therapeutics’ Cambridge, MA location.
  • As part of the role, the successful candidate will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
