Job Description

The Associate Director, Decision and Quality Analytics, plays a critical role in supporting the Director by providing strategic leadership and operational oversight focused on quality analytics, and R&D portfolio analytics. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and project teams, the Associate Director contributes to the development and execution of data-driven strategies to enhance decision-making processes and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Analytics Leadership

  • Lead the strategic direction of analytics initiatives in collaboration with the Director, ensuring the generation of actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Apply advanced quantitative predictive analytics and modeling capabilities to derive insights at both project & portfolio levels and quality management system within the R&D portfolio and Quality Analytics.
  • Lead or consult on process improvement initiatives, strategic projects and AI initiatives within SPOQ team and research

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Effectively partner with portfolio, program, and quality representatives, as well as process owners,to enhance metrics and benchmarks measuring GxP compliance, quality, and risks.
  • Work closely with cross-functional R&D project teams (RDPT, PDC, etc.) to align quantitative analytics with project goals and objectives.
  • Partner with Finance, R&D functions, PO&T, Corporate Strategy, Commercial, and other key stakeholders to identify areas of synergies, collaborations, and continuous improvement in terms of data & data insights at program, portfolio, and enterprise levels, including understanding business needs for new solutions, or modifications to existing solutions via improved access to data including the automation of such where possible.

Data Management, Reporting, And Best Practices

  • Contribute to the establishment of best practices for developing and maintaining data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure efficient and accurate report generation to support quality, portfolio delivery, and organizational decision-making.

Required Skills

  • The ability to extract, model, and present data to build insights is critical to this role’s success as is the ability to communicate technical concepts regarding predictive analytics tools and capabilities to non-technical staff.list
  • Experience in handling and modeling complex financial and commercial figures with in-depth knowledge of forecasting and valuation methodologies.
  • Familiarity with or direct experience in applied decision analysis, simulation, and/or data science and concise
  • Strong cross-functional matrix leadership experience and ability to establish strong partnerships without formal authority; Ability to work in a high matrix organization; strong, collaborative team player.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge and proficiency in Captario, Excel, Power Bi, and/or other data analytics software.
  • Extensive understanding of the Biogen R&D and PO&T business processes, and the entire drug development lifecycle.
  • Keen understanding of the Biogen R&D Governance process.
  • Excellent understanding of the biopharmaceutical R&D business. Demonstrated in depth insights of the global competitive business environment.
