Nimbus has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional Associate Director of Biology to join our team. The person in this role will take on a variety of responsibilities contributing to Nimbus’ current, ongoing projects and strategy, as well as evaluation of potential new targets. This role will primarily support Nimbus' Immunology pipeline and will report to our Executive Director of Biology.
In This Role, You Will
Lead the biology and pharmacology on a Discovery project, as part of a multidisciplinary drug discovery project team
Instrumental in guiding the strategy, project objectives and priorities with external and internal project team members
Identify CRO resources, design and manage studies and establish strong capabilities in a completely outsourced setting, to design and execute in vitro assays and in vivo pharmacology studies
Communicate context and interpretation of the data to the project team and present research plans and scientific updates to senior leadership and external advisors
Help identify collaborative opportunities and build relationships with academic experts
Assist and contribute to documentation to support Regulatory filings
Participate in developing the discovery pipeline by proposing and vetting new target concepts and cutting-edge technologies
These Qualifications Will Help This Role Be Successful
Ph.D. degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology or Pharmacology or equivalent
A track record of independent research experience plus 6+ years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry drug discovery experience
Strong background in immunology or related discipline and demonstrated track record of direct contributions in driving drug discovery projects from target validation to development candidate
First author publications in peer-reviewed journals
Ability to navigate, problem-solve, and execute in a dynamic, fast-paced and evolving environment
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving in a highly collaborative environment
Proficient at presentation to senior management
Experience in managing scientific teams and research in an externalized setting including CROs and academic collaborators
Additional Desired Experience
Biology lead role on multidisciplinary drug discovery project teams, with experience in fostering productive and effective teams plus managing team dynamics
Experience in executing studies to support Regulatory submissions
Research background in autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, metabolic diseases or oncology
Working knowledge of pharmacokinetics and PK/PD relationships
Leading projects to candidate nomination
