Job Summary
The Associate Dean for Medical Student Research at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine (UK COM ) oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of research opportunities for medical students across all campuses. Nestled in the research and education domains of the college, this role is essential for fostering an environment that promotes innovation, critical thinking, and academic excellence among medical and MD/PhD students. The Associate Dean for Medical Student Research reports directly to the Senior Associate Dean for Medical Student Education. The faculty member will have a minimum of 40 hours protected time per week to complete the duties associated with this role. The Associate Dean for Medical Student Research may supervise directors and staff responsible for developing and administering research programs. In collaboration with the regional campus leadership, faculty, and staff, the Associate Dean for Medical Student Research ensures the delivery of research opportunities across all campuses. The Associate Dean will also play a key leadership role in the MD/PhD program.
