Ankura

Associate, Data & Technology, Frontend Software Developer

Ankura Washington, DC

Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth.

Practice Overview

The Noragh group within Ankura develops and maintains a portfolio of analytics products centered largely but not solely around high-volume unstructured text. Rather than a pure machine-learning plus dashboards approach, we focus on opportunities to interactively support human analysts as they organize, explore, and exploit data with the assistance of machine learning and an intuitive user experience. Our products include platforms that can be configured for specific re-sellable applications or delivered “raw” for unique needs, as well as custom development when required. We believe in modular distributed design, clear code, robust testing, collaborative innovation, happy clients, mutual respect, and a real work/life balance. We also strive to build upon and maintain a culture that is inclusive, rewarding, and in keeping with our organizational core values.

Role Overview

Are you a budding developer with a passion for crafting captivating digital experiences? We're seeking a frontend software developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to dive deep into JavaScript and Vue.js (and other technologies), while honing your skills in CSS, UX design, and even AI. If in addition to being a code ninja, you also have a creative streak, whether it's musical composition, musical talent, or any other form of artistic expression, we'd love to hear from you!

This role will be remote, based in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in GUI development with modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue or React), promise-based web services (Axios), user-experience refinement, graphic design, and working understanding of CSS and HTML.
  • Ability to collaborate within a small development team, including code reviews and joint software design and implementation decision-making.
  • Exposure to development tools like source code control systems (preferably Git or Mercurial), continuous integration (preferably Jenkins), Agile project management (preferably Jira), and documentation (preferably Confluence).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphic design, or related STEM or arts field, with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, with experience in modern frameworks such as Vue.js.
  • Understanding of CSS, including preprocessors like SASS or LESS, and familiarity with responsive design.
  • Basic knowledge of UX/UI design principles, with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Jasmine is a plus.
  • Portfolio of at least 3 examples of browser-based design required.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $50,000 to $120,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
