Sheffield Haworth’s US Global Banking & Markets team is seeking to hire an additional Associate. Sheffield Haworth is one of the market’s leading financial services search franchises, with active business relationships with several of the market’s leading banks and advisory boutiques.


The team, led globally from New York by Julian Bell and also driven by Michael Nelson and Gene Swift as Consultants in the US, is actively engaged in senior executive search across investment banking, corporate and commercial banking, global capital markets, credit, macro/rates and FX, equities and derivatives and structured products supporting these areas. Examples of roles the team engages on include: Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Global Head of Banking, Head of M&A, Head of Equity Capital Markets, Head of Credit Sales, Head of Equities, together with numerous roles in next-level management, MD and Director-level searches in all the disciplines listed.


This is a high-performance team based in New York and Los Angeles and candidates are expected to work in/from office the greater majority of the time and be proactive out of hours when needed. They will be managed and mentored by the New York-based Global Head of Banking & Markets and by the team 3 other key officers.


Associate Overview


Associates at Sheffield Haworth are responsible for research and search execution in their product area. In addition, they will be expected to proactively assist Consultants with marketing, pitching and candidate management. Early access to client meetings and dialogue can be expected.


A few of the key areas of search that Associates can expect to work on include:


  • Knowledge management within our search database as well as within the team and firm Sharepoint and other systems
  • Desk research, on LinkedIn and other research sources as well as via our proprietary database and company websites
  • Telephone work, including candidate “cold calls” as well as candidate assessment and ongoing relationship management
  • Written work including client-ready candidate assessments, job descriptions, client update notes, marketing materials, quarterly reports, etc.
  • Candidate & client interaction
  • Business development, which could include company and management research as well as presentation preparation


Sheffield Haworth is looking for an Associate who is proactive and innovative. A successful applicant will have:


  • Experience working on Investment Banking and/or Global Markets search projects.
  • Good telephone manners and excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing.
  • An ability to prioritize when faced with tight deadlines and shifting client needs.
  • An ability to exercise absolute discretion and professionalism with confidential information.
  • A positive attitude, a love of problem-solving, and a high attention to detail.
  • Well-developed skills in key office applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel, in order to efficiently produce presentations, reports, charts, graphical analysis, and written documents.

Salary & Benefits


This is a permanent full-time position. The salary range for this position is 75,000 USD to 95,000 USD. Associates are also eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience and skills. We may consider higher salaries for overqualified and exceptional candidates.
