Job Description

The Junior Video Editor will support the Lead Video Editor in all aspects of @Friday.Beers video production. This role involves organizing and managing footage, editing social clips, working with creators, and writing jokes, all at a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Proficiency: Use industry-standard video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro (preferred), DaVinci Resolve, and Photoshop.
  • Footage Management: Organize and manage raw video files, ensuring they are correctly labeled and stored for easy access. Assist with administrative duties such as organizing project files, maintaining project schedules, and other tasks as needed.
  • Editing: Assemble raw footage into rough cuts, implementing basic edits such as trimming, transitions, and simple effects. Sync audio and video tracks, assist in selecting appropriate background music and sound effects. Perform basic color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency. Integrate basic graphics, titles, and lower thirds into video content. Ensure all final outputs meet the technical standards and creative expectations of the company.
  • Feedback Implementation: Make revisions based on feedback from the Lead Video Editor and other team members. Work closely with the production team to meet project deadlines and contribute to the overall creative process.

Qualifications

  • Portfolio: A portfolio, demo reel, or website showcasing previous video editing work.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in video editing or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve). Basic knowledge of After Effects or other motion graphics software is a plus. Familiar with Google Drive and Frame.io
  • Creative Skills: Strong sense of storytelling through comedy, pacing, and visual composition. Firm grasp on pop culture, specifically movie/tv show references. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to take direction and work collaboratively.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines (4-6 videos a week).
