Position Details

This is recruitment is open until filled and will be used to establish a pool of applicants beginning Academic Year 2024-2025. The pool is continuously accepting applications to be reviewed throughout the academic year.

This recruitment may be used to fill multiple positions at the Lecturer, Teaching Assistant Professor-Career, or Adjunct Faculty level.

Summary Of Duties

Washington State University College of Nursing is currently recruiting for caring, committed nurses to work as full-time or part-time instructors in the nursing program on the Spokane and Yakima campuses.

We are seeking candidates with clinical experience in all nursing specialties including:

  • Long Term Care
  • Medical Surgical
  • Pediatrics
  • Obstetrics
  • Psychiatric and
  • Community Health Nursing

Required Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing or closely related field OR candidates currently enrolled in an approved Nursing Master's program may be eligible for hire.
  • Licensure or eligible for license as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an educator or preceptor.

Annual Salary: $32,866-$114,983 (1.0 FTE); commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary to be pro-rated based upon FTE at time of offer.

In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

FTE: Variable

Appointment Term: 9 months (typical schedule is during the academic year, August 16 - May 15)

Tenure Track: No

Continuous/Temporary: Temporary, renewable.

Temporary End Date: Temporary positions are expected to end on May 15, 2025. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.

Screening Date: The first screen date of applications will begin July 27, 2024 and will be continuously screened; open until filled.

Background Check: This position has been designated by the department to require a background check because it requires access to children or vulnerable adults as defined by RCW 74.34, engages in law enforcement, requires security clearance, interacts with WSU students in a counseling or advising capacity, has access to personal identifying and/or financial information, unsupervised access to university buildings/property, or other business-related need. A background check will not be completed until an initial determination of qualification for employment has been made.
