Position Description Summary/Purpose
The Treftz School of Business at the University of Bridgeport cordially invites applications for an instructional position in Business Administration, at the rank of assistant professor. The preferred start date for the position is August 1, 2024. This is a grant funded position until June 30, 2028.
We are seeking a faculty member who is committed to teaching excellence. This role includes teaching a wide range of Graduate & Undergraduate School of Business courses, advising students as well as course & curriculum development. Faculty could have a potential teaching schedule that includes graduate & undergraduate classes offered at the main campus in Bridgeport CT and online. Those with industry experience, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, and an interest in helping shape tomorrow’s leaders are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities
- Teaching a full course load within the School of Business
- Advising graduate and or undergraduate students on course schedules, as well as other programs and careers as related to their studies at UB
- Maintain office hours for at least six hours per week
- Attending department meetings
- Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed
- Performs similar or related work as required, directed, or as the situation dictates
- Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends
- Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort
- Demonstrated commitment to developing and fostering best practices and policies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and build an environment in which all members of the University community are treated with respect and dignity.
- Proven teaching track record
- Proficient and professional business acumen
- Project Management & Sustainability experience is helpful but not required
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- PHD or DBA (preferred), MBA or MS (required) in Business, or closely related discipline
- A minimum of five years of experience working in related industry after a master’s degree
- Knowledge of current Business Industry trends, practices, and technology in the field
- Demonstrated skills in teaching in traditional University classrooms and online environments
- Ability to analyze, synthesize, and interpret student learning outcome data to improve teaching and learning
- Ability to work collegially in a team environment
- Valid license
- Must be able to work in the United States
