We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Geological Engineering. Situated, a city renowned for its historical significance and nestled in the scenic Rocky Mountains, We offer a unique opportunity to join one of the founding programs originally established as the School of Mines.
Position Details
Anticipated Starting Date: January 2, 2025

Duties
Engage undergraduate and graduate students through hands-on learning, teaching, and research.
Teach a blend of general undergraduate courses and specialized graduate classes within the candidate's area of expertise.
Establish and lead an independent research program.
Contribute to campus and departmental service initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related field from an accredited institution (by start date).
Expertise in geological and/or geological engineering relevant to the undergraduate program, complementing existing departmental offerings.
Ability and enthusiasm for developing and teaching undergraduate courses in geological engineering.
Demonstrated record of research excellence appropriate to career stage.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in university-level teaching or demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching.
Evidence of ongoing scholarly activity, such as peer-reviewed publications or successful grant proposals.
Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and external partners.
Relevant industry or government experience.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Experience in mentorship or the potential to develop mentorship skills.
Professional registration or licensure, or the interest and capability to pursue such credentials.
