Assistant Professor of Public Health

Job Description

The Department of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Sciences at the University of Indianapolis invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the CHEP accredited Public Health program. This is a tenure-track position beginning August 2024. We are looking for an individual with the ability to function well within a collegial, collaborative work environment and who has the desire and expertise to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. This is an outstanding opportunity for a professional to join a growing University as we re-imagine and revitalize our academic programs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Public Health and prepares students for professional employment.
  • Attend and participate collaboratively in program, department, college, and university meetings
  • Advise a minimum of 30 students per year
  • Course responsibilities may include: policy and advocacy, epidemiology, health services management, and program planning and evaluation
  • Service to the university, college, department, and profession
  • A developing or ongoing scholarly agenda.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Ph.D/Ed.D. in Public Health or a related field. ABD and Master’s prepared with a minimum of 5 years of significant experience in the field of Public Health will be considered;
  • Successful university/college teaching experience preferred
  • Evidence of successful experience with distance education design and delivery, including the use of a learning management system preferred
