Position: Assistant Professor of Psychology/Human Services

Shorter University’s Social Sciences department in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Human Services, History, Criminal Justice, and Political Science with related minors.

Job Summary

The Department of Social Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track psychology and/or human services position with a start date of August 2024.

The successful candidate will teach traditional and online undergraduate courses across the Psychology/Human Services curriculum. The successful candidate should have broad credentials to cover Psychology and Human Services. Practical experience in Psychology or a related field is preferred so that the candidate can model course content, values, and practices necessary in the field.

Required Qualifications/Experience

The successful candidate must

• Embrace and support the University’s Mission, Personal Lifestyle Statement and Integration of Faith and Learning Statement.
• Have 18 or more hours of Psychology and/or Human Services courses.
• A signed statement of faith.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Psychology or Human Services
• Practical experience that will inform and elevate academic instruction.
• Experience teaching traditional and online courses at the undergraduate level.
• Student advising through their degree plan to graduation.
