Assistant Professor of Political Science (One-year Term)

The Department of Political Science at DePauw University invites applications for a one-year term position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2024. Ph.D. in Political Science by 2024 is required; candidates with master’s degrees or who are ABD, will be considered at the rank of Instructor. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal-arts setting and evidence of effective and inclusive teaching are essential. The department specifically seeks candidates to teach multiple introductory American Politics courses, and upper-level courses in Institutions/Legislative Politics or other upper-level courses in American Politics of the candidate’s choosing after consultation with the department. Teaching assignment is 6 courses per year (3 courses per primary term), and funding is available for professional development and research with undergraduate students. For recent Ph.D.s, upon mutual agreement with the University, there is the possibility that we could consider a postdoctoral appointment with a reduced teaching load.
