Maryville College, a selective four-year liberal arts college committed to superior teaching, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Management for the 2024-2025 academic year. A Ph.D. in management or closely related field is required and college teaching experience is preferred.
Teaching responsibilities include courses in the Business Program (e.g., Human Resources Management, Principles of Management, Nonprofit Leadership, or other Special Topics), courses in the core curriculum (e.g., Freshman Seminar, Quantitative Literacy, Ethics or other courses depending on expertise) as well as ongoing supervision of undergraduate senior theses. Potential opportunities include coordinating the Human Resources Management major or the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance CNP certificate program. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts setting and a readiness for college service, including academic advising. Building partnerships with members of the local business and non-profit communities is expected. An ability to integrate the ideals of a liberal arts education with the business disciplines is vital.
Founded in Maryville, Tenn., in 1819, Maryville College is one of the oldest baccalaureate-granting institutions of higher learning in the South. The College is also an institutional member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). Its historic, 263-acre campus includes a 140-acre multi-use forest.
