Assistant Professor of Management

Job Title: Assistant Professor of Management Department: Business Reports To: Chair, Department of Business Location: On-site FLSA Status: Exempt Time Requirements: 9 month Supervisory Responsibilities: N Summary Description: The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong commitment to scholarly activities, and a desire to contribute to the academic and professional development of students. This is a tenure track position. Essential Functions: As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks. To plan and deliver lectures, developing course assignments and grading student work. To advise and mentor students on academic paths and career matters. To update and revise current course materials, in addition to developing new courses or programs as needed. To support the University through service on a committee and attendance at required events. To conduct appropriate level of research and/or attend conferences to stay current in field of expertise. Education: Candidates for the position must have a minimum of a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in management. A terminal degree, such as a Ph.D. in management, Ph.D. in business with a management specialization or DBA is preferred. Priority will be given to candidates with business and/or teaching experience and at least 18 graduate semester hours in supply chain management. Experience: Preferably at least 1 year of teaching experience. Required Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills; Advanced organizational skills; Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
