Position Purpose
Applications are being sought for a full-time assistant professor of Criminal Justice courses teaching introductory and upper-division courses. The program of study for the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security degrees may be reviewed in the university catalog.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Subject matter expertise in Homeland Security, including intelligence, terrorism, and emergency management.
Demonstrated interpersonal/intrapersonal skills, especially in engaging with traditional and non-traditional university students.
Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative.
Ability to advise and mentor students regarding educational and career goals.
Successful use of multiple creative instructional strategies and technologies in the classroom and online to improve educational outcomes of diverse learners.
Background of working with diverse groups of colleagues and constituents to collaboratively maintain and improve programming.
Experience
Evidence of rigorous, creative, and effective teaching at the collegiate level.
Applicants with previous law enforcement experience are preferred, especially in Homeland Security.
Education
Completed master’s or terminal degree in Criminal Justice or related field. Ph.D. preferred.
Additional Information
Available for Fall and Spring semesters on site at the main campus in Lebanon, TN.
