The Assistant Professor of Computer Science position is a tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science.
Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities
Teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science, computer information systems, and related fields.
Develop an active, externally funded research program.
Advise and mentor students.
Serve on departmental and institutional committees.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Desired areas of expertise and skill include one or more of the following: cybersecurity, project management, systems development, database systems, network communications, or advanced programming techniques (including secure coding and algorithms).
Ability to teach a diverse student body.
Ability to establish an externally funded research program to incorporate undergraduate students.
Education And Experience
Masters degree. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field is required, Ph.D. is preferred.
Prior experience engaging diverse undergraduate students is preferred.
Preference will be given to applicants with prior teaching experience, a record of grantsmanship, and a desire to serve in a student-centered University.
