Assistant Professor/Associate Professor - Musculoskeletal Imaging, McGovern Medical School

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time, academic Musculoskeletal Radiologist to join our growing subspecialty focused team of five faculty members and three Physician Assistants (PA) practicing in a robust clinical and educational atmosphere in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging. The section is responsible for all diagnostic MSK work and image-guided procedures. The academic appointment will be at a rank commensurate with Assistant or Associate Professor, non-tenure clinical track in the Musculoskeletal Radiology section according to their training and experience.

The musculoskeletal department has a comprehensive clinical practice with all facets of diagnostic and interventional services. The major facets of the MSK section include:

  • High-end sports imaging including the National football league (NFL), National Basketball Association (NBA), University teams, and Ice hockey leagues.
  • MSK Ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) procedures and biologics treatment with image guidance.
  • Rich case mix from the LBJ County hospital.
  • Extensive MSK / clinical research opportunities.
  • Expanding MSK operations with leadership opportunities.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The ideal MSK radiologist team member will provide high-quality clinical service, actively teach fellows, residents, and medical students, and participate in quality improvement and value initiatives. The radiologist will also interact with various clinical services and participate actively in patient care. Institutional resources, mentorship, and academic time encourage and support interest in research or scholarly interdepartmental collaborations.

Qualifications:

  • Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology or be eligible to hold an equivalent certification, where applicable.
  • Completed fellowship or focused training in Musculoskeletal Imaging.
  • Passionate and interested in teaching and building a busy clinical practice.
  • Team Player with excellent interpersonal skills who can work with various disciplines to foster excellent in-patient care.
  • Proficient in interpreting diagnostic radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and Ultrasound.
  • Experience with image-guided procedures is preferred.
