Position Overview
As an Assistant Principal, you will play a vital role in supporting the principal in the day-to-day administration of our campus. You'll coordinate various activities and services to ensure smooth operations and facilitate an enriching learning environment for both students and staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Certification: Texas Mid-management or equivalent Texas certification
Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Thorough understanding of school administrative operations and a focus on improving student academic performance.
Minimum Experience: Three years of experience as a classroom teacher.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in organizing daily school schedules, teacher assignments, and extracurricular activities.
Collaborate in the development and evaluation of educational programs.
Support the implementation of innovative instructional methods, providing resources and guidance to teachers.
Promote a safe and orderly learning environment conducive to student success.
Serve as acting principal in the absence of the regular principal.
Foster a positive and inclusive climate for learning, respecting diversity and cultural backgrounds.
Engage in collaborative processes with parents, staff, and community members to enhance campus improvement plans.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems and records necessary for effective school management.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship to staff, including new hires.
Coordinate various administrative tasks such as budgeting, inventory management, and facility maintenance.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing educational institutions.
Provide supervision and support to students during non-instructional periods.
Address student disciplinary issues with fairness and consistency, promoting positive behavior management strategies.
Act as a liaison between the school and the community, advocating for the school's mission and fostering community engagement.
Continuously seek professional development opportunities to enhance job performance and effectiveness.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Share supervisory responsibilities for professional staff with the school principal, including teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, and clerical personnel.
Working Conditions
Mental Demands: Effective communication, coordination of campus activities, and maintaining emotional resilience under pressure.
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Occasional travel within the district, occasional extended and irregular work hours.
Remote Work: School district employees may be required to work remotely and utilize personal electronic devices as needed.
