The Caesar Rodney School District is accepting applications for Assistant Principal of Star Hill Elementary School. Star Hill Elementary School will serves grades PreK and grades 1-5 with ~400 students.

QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must possess:

  • Successful experience as a classroom teacher of at least 5 years; Elementary School experience strongly preferred
  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and / or certification for School Leader I
  • Eligibility for DE certification as Principal/Assistant Principal
  • Successful teacher / school / district leadership experience required
  • Experience leading professional development and coaching / mentoring preferred
  • Strong leadership, consensus building, and communication skills
  • Knowledge and implementation of effective instructional strategies for improvement of student learning and achievement
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to provide support for staff members with implementing behavior supports for students
  • Proven ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community
  • An ability to facilitate change for continued student improvement and staff development
  • Commitment to high academic standards and creating a rigorous, fun, inclusive academic atmosphere

Internal Candidates: Submit a letter of interest, updated resumé, and 2 letters of recommendation to Dr. Sherry Kijowski, Assistant Superintendent, to be considered for an interview. (No online application required). All documentation must be submitted to the office of Human Resources by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

External Candidates: Complete an online application. The following documents represent a completed application file and must be submitted to be considered for an interview: A current letter of interest, updated resume, three (3) current letters of recommendation and a copy of Administrative certificate. All documents must be attached to the online application. The completed online application must be submitted by 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
