Pastor for Adult Ministries First Alliance Church, Erie, PA | www.facerie.org Church Location Description: First Alliance Church (FAC), with a 125-year history in the Erie, PA region, is a growing suburban church with a rich history of a fidelity to God’s Word, corporate worship, and diverse ministries reaching the different segment populations: i.e., students, children, young adults, senior adults, etc.
Ministry Objectives: We are looking for a high capacity, driven, engaging, and energetic Christ follower to lead our adult ministries, primarily focused on the 25 to 55-year-old population. This ministerial position, to be effective, will: (1) lead, grow, and develop a small group/life group ministry, (2) lead the church (beyond the four walls) to invest in and impact the local community and greater Erie region, (3) connect with and grow a ministry to couples and families.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum: 5 years of pastoral or ministry leadership experience
Minimum: Undergraduate degree in pastoral ministry, or Bible and theology, or Christian ministry, or the equivalent
Ordained and Licensed with the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination, or willing to pursue licensure and ordination
Experience working in a large church (300+), and multi-staff setting
Experience, passion, and a proven track record of leading, directing, and developing all aspects of small group/life group miniseries
Familiarity with multiple group structures, strategies, and systems
Experience with or familiarity with various curriculum
Experience, passion, and a proven track record of leading, directing, and developing all aspects of ministries that impact the community, moving the church to serve and invest beyond the four-walls: i.e., evangelism, outreach, and/or a missional mindset
Experience, passion, and a proven track record of working with young families and couples
A passion to love the church and to live with a missional mindset
Strong reliance on the Holy Spirit in both personal and professional life
Agreement and alignment with doctrinal statement of the C&MA denomination
Agreement and alignment with FAC’s vision and values
Role Focus/Essential Functions:
Small Group/Life Group Development: from Launch to Sustainability to ongoing Growth
Community Impact: a missional focus on helping FAC invest in and impact our greater Erie community, from Launch to Sustainability to ongoing Growth
A special focus is expected on developing and growing ministries with young couples and young families.
Oversight of Men’s and Women’s ministries
Premarital Counseling ministry development
Performing all duties of pastoral ministry, and shepherding well those within the Pastor of Adult Ministries scope of ministry, in addition to the greater congregation as a whole
Other, as assigned, including but not limited to weddings, funerals, and general/shared congregational care 1

Support and encourage other staff and their roles, ministries, and teams
Keep regular office hours, communicated to other staff in coordination with the Lead Pastor and the Executive Director

Work well to create a consensus with colleagues
