The Assistant Pastor (AP)- Next Generation & Worship at Coudersport Alliance Church (CAC) is called to pastoral ministry specifically related to the next generation and to worship ministries but also ministry to the greater church. CAC considers next generation ministries to be comprised of children who are infant through high school ages. While the majority of the responsibilities will be related to next generation and worship ministries, the AP will work closely with the Lead Pastor (LP) to help develop a cohesive discipleship strategy for people of all ages at CAC. One significant role of the position is to create a healthy model and system for volunteer leadership development and multiplication within the Kids, Youth and Worship Ministry contexts. This is a full-time salaried position.
Requirements
The candidate will be licensed in good standing with Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) or be willing and able to pursue licensing with the C&MA. CAC would also prefer that the candidate be ordained within the C&MA or actively pursuing ordination with the denomination. The candidate must have theological training either via undergraduate (bachelors minimum) or graduate level studies within institutions that align with C&MA doctrine. The candidate will display a working knowledge of current next generation ministries and cultural trends, a firm biblical understanding, and a healthy level of self and others awareness. The candidate will also demonstrate a proficiency in leading and developing a worship culture.
Reporting Structure
The Assistant Pastor will report directly to CAC’s Lead Pastor who reports to the Elder Team.

Passion to reach individuals who are un-churched or have turned away from faith in Jesus
Willingness to both support and live out the Vision and Mission Statements of CAC
Commitment to serve God and others with humility and a genuine heart for the community
Job Description
The Assistant Pastor is responsible for the following:
Next Generation Ministries- Youth & Kids (60% of position)
Serve as the primary ministry leader and coordinator of our Youth Ministry
Develop a team of Youth Ministry leaders who will help to effectively disciple both young people and their families during their middle school and high school years
Oversee and support our Kids Ministry Leaders (volunteer positions) as they create healthy and growing ministries that align with the mission, vision, and values of CAC
Develop an effective system for identifying, training, and empowering volunteer Kids and Youth Leaders who can successfully execute all the main leadership components of the ministries
Provide tangible support to Kids Ministry Leaders in the development and execution of the annual CAC Vacation Bible School program
Equip volunteers and students to effectively share the gospel of Jesus with others
Create and foster a healthy sense of community, belonging and family within the ministries
Worship Ministry (25% of position)
Create a vibrant and growing worship ministry and worship culture
Develop an effective system for identifying, training, and empowering new Worship and Tech Ministry volunteers who will serve on the Worship and Tech teams
In conjunction with LP, create weekly engaging worship experiences for the whole church
Ensure the proper recording, editing and uploading of weekly worship services to various platforms
Facilitate quarterly Worship & Prayer Nights for the whole church
Oversee and empower CAC’s Welcome Team helping to create a friendly and welcoming environment for Sunday morning guests as well as regular attenders
Pastoral & Administrative Responsibilities (15% of position)
Provide pastoral care on a limited basis, knowing when to refer individuals to a counselor
Preach at Sunday services as needed (every 6 weeks on average)
Assist with church-wide events / initiatives
Create content, maintain and ensure the accuracy of CAC’s website and social media
Manage Kids and Youth ministry database including attendance, follow-up, and event registration
Concerning unclarified or miscellaneous duties/taskings, the AP will be directly amenable to the LP’s guidance and direction, rather than any outside party

Creating healthy, Christ-centered and engaging Next Generation and Worship Ministries in support of CAC’s overall Vision and Mission will be the primary goal of this position.
