LHH is seeking candidates for a direct hire Assistant Logistics Manager position with a growing company in Fort Mill, SC! The ideal candidate has 5+ years domestic and international logistics experience, is detail-oriented, technically savvy, and has strong leadership skills! This position is fully in-office Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support the Logistics team in their daily tasks, including training team members on job duties or company policies, or arranging for necessary training. Provide ongoing support and guidance, make recommendations, and suggest ideas for improving work efficiency.
Oversee key departmental activities, ensuring timely processing of shipments and invoices, verifying logistics/customs fees and freight charges, and obtaining management approval as needed.
Assist the team in investigating, researching, and resolving issues related to shipments, customs, payments, and claims, while keeping management informed of progress.
Maintain records of all shipments, focusing on on-time delivery, costs, and service levels; support management in defining, measuring, and reporting performance metrics for inbound suppliers and distribution centers (DCs).
Monitor all product shipments, coordinating with relevant parties to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Ensure proper receipt of inbound shipments by DCs and customers.
Aid management in refining and developing departmental policies, procedures, work instructions, etc. Ensure compliance with CBP and C-TPAT requirements through proper documentation and activities.
Assist in reviewing, negotiating, and implementing terms for steamship line contracts in collaboration with corporate offices.
Help management develop performance metrics for inbound suppliers/vendors, ensuring quality and delivery requirements are met.
Assist in reviewing and comparing quotes from new suppliers/vendors. Support management in identifying and qualifying new suppliers/vendors.
Supervise and support the logistics team in tasks such as inbound tracking, customs clearance, drayage coordination, and claim management as needed.
Collect and analyze data for management reports, assisting in the preparation of shipment reports for use in staff meetings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in logistics, import/export, inventory control, or supply chain management.
