Lycoming College is hiring a part-time Assistant Football Coach! This position works collaboratively in the organization and execution of athletic practices and competitive events for the Lycoming College Football team. This person will also assist with some recruitment responsibilities for new student athletes.

Students partner with faculty in doing original research, thrive in a robust program of internships, study abroad in more than two dozen countries, and compete in 19 NCAA Division III sports. What will I do in this role?

  • Instruct student-athletes with sound principles and expert skills related to football
  • Prepare individual athletes for games, set season goals and motivate students using techniques that are consistent with Lycoming College’s athletic program philosophy
  • Assist in the design and implementation of schemes to prepare the team to be successful weekly
  • Successfully complete the annual NCAA “open book” rule test
  • Model integrity, respect and good sportsman ship at all times.
  • Recruit student-athletes who meet the College’s admission requirements, who possess the potential to contribute to the team and add positively to the student body.
  • Monitor the academic success of student-athletes.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent of 3+ years coaching experience.
  • College level coaching and playing experience preferred
  • Effective in strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with student recruiting preferred
  • Travel is required for the position as is a good standing driving record with a valid US driver’s license
  • Weekend and evening work required

We have two positions available, one for an annual amount of 500 hours and the other allotted a maximum of 1,450 hours.
