Job Description

Position Summary:

CRAFT Detroit is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Editor to join our growing team. As an assistant you will work closely with our editors and other team members to assist in the post production process. Your primary responsibilities will include organizing and managing video assets, performing basic video editing tasks and ensuring smooth workflow throughout the post production process.

This is a full-time staff role with benefits and requires working a hybrid schedule with some days in the office and some days remote. Ideal candidates will be based in the Detroit area.

Accountabilities:

  • Sort and categorize video footage and audio files along with other media assets.
  • Maintain a well-organized file structure of easy access and retrieval of assets.
  • Collaborate with editors and producers to ensure necessary assets are available for edit.
  • Assist in archiving and backing up video projects.
  • Perform basic video editing tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in all client service needs.
  • Occasional nights and weekend work.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Ideal candidates will have at least six months of relevant experience, preferably in an agency studio and/or post house setting.
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative suite with a focus on Premier and After Effects.
  • Understanding of video formats, codecs and file types.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Portfolio containing work samples and reel is required.
