Assistant Editor
The Atlantic is seeking an assistant editor to join the newsroom’s fact-checking team. This assistant editor will work with The Atlantic’s journalists and editors to ensure the accuracy and fairness of our work. This position will involve fact-checking across our editorial platforms (magazine, web, podcasts, etc.) on a wide range of topics, including politics, culture, science, and technology.

Salary Minimum: $55,000; Salary Maximum: $65,000

- Keen editorial judgment
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, juggling various projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and interviewing skills
- Ability to work independently
- A genuine love of research
- A flexible schedule; night and weekend work often required
- Able to uphold the highest editorial standards under tight deadlines
- 1-2 years editorial and fact-checking experience preferred
