Atlanta Business Chronicle

Assistant Editor

The Assistant Editor is the critical player in planning and producing special sections and events content for the Atlanta Business Chronicle newsroom. As the Chronicle is a multi-media publication, the Assistant Editor is often responsible for editing and publishing content in both our daily newsletters and weekly print editions.

The Assistant Editor is highly organized and efficient, often working weeks or months ahead to plan and execute special publications including events content. The position requires proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets or similar programs. The Assistant Editor is also responsible for building and managing a team of freelance writers to deliver content on time. Meeting deadlines is a non-negotiable standard of the job.

This is a highly collaborative position that works under the direction of the Managing Editor and often in tandem with the Events Director to produce awards publications. The Assistant Editor is expected to collaborate with the Atlanta Business Chronicle events team and the National Design Desk to plan and execute weekly special sections and events content.

The Assistant Editor is also part of a team that routinely streamlines processes for proofing and editing content across all Atlanta Business Chronicle platforms. Thus, the position calls for a strong writer and copy editor who works with the Managing Editor to produce and edit the weekly print edition.
