Position Announcement: Assistant Director of Adult and Community Education

The Assistant Director will provide administrative and instructional support in the NJC Adult and Community Education center. Support of programs within NJC ACE includes guiding instructor professional development for ABE classes, GED Prep classes, ESL classes, and college and career navigation classes. The ideal candidate will utilize exceptional organization skills to manage all aspects of programmatic data evaluation and reporting for all programs within the NJC ACE center.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The Assistant Director will use qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities for program improvement and will work with the Director to implement program adjustments. The Assistant Director will be the first point of contact for the outreach sites and in collaboration with the Director, will ensure compliance with grant-funded activities. The Assistant Director will provide instructional support to all ACE instructors across three sites. Instructional support includes acting as the LACES Data Administrator, Assessment Coordinator and monitoring goal coaching for all ACE learners. The highly organized Assistant Director will coordinate the schedule, facilitation and process for registration days, enrollment process and learner orientation.

What You Will Need

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Teams
  • Ability to absorb and analyze information quickly and putting information into action promptly
  • Knowledge of grant or similar funding programs, specifically compliance and accuracy importance
  • Willingness to complete ABEA certification within three years of employment;

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Associates Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend events.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with learners, ACE instructors, community members and the college team in a positive, relationship-building way.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computers
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Background and experience in community service or non-profit work
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License

What We Can Offer

This is a part-time professional appointment. Annual salary is $36,000-$40,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
