Job Overview

Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this full-time, year-round position involves processing admission applications, presenting daily information sessions, providing hospitality to students and their families, overseeing the admissions inbox and admissions phone line, mailing decision and recruitment letters, scheduling tour guides and student workers, and staffing the front desk. The position is primarily campus-based but may include some off-campus travel in addition to night and weekend coverage.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for processing all Undergraduate Admissions applications - the process includes but is not limited to:
  • Updating applicant information into the databases (Slate and Colleague).
  • Generate various letters like admit, deposit, withdrawal, scholarship, and denial letters.
  • Oversees student tour guides and student workers and their scheduling and training,
  • Coordinates calling campaigns as needed,
  • Enters and maintains databases related to prospective students and institutions,
  • Maintains application file system for all active/inactive files in an efficient manner,
  • Generates various query reports and lists of prospective students and applicants as requested by the director,
  • Provides research assistance and data analysis as instructed by the director,
  • Serves as primary contact for front desk coverage, including answering phones and directing walk-ins to the appropriate staff,
  • Maintains the Office of Undergraduate Admissions shared calendar and monitors the admissions email inbox,
  • Performs office and administrative functions such as word processing, data input, file management, mailing and shipping,
  • Generates, completes, and allocates correspondence and reports to staff and management in a timely and effective manner,
  • Schedules appointments and tours for prospective students and families. Coordinates with other departments as needed,
  • Provides staffing coverage for on-campus admissions events and covers the phone and email over extended breaks,
  • Provides limited coverage for off-campus recruitment events during evenings and weekends,
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to drive a car with a valid driver’s license,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Ability to organize, work well under pressure, multitask, pay attention to detail, and maintain confidentiality,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Knowledge of Slate is a plus

Education

A Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience in higher education, admissions, and or recruitment preferred,
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred,
  • Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills,
  • Attention to detail,
  • Strong presentation skills preferred,
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced office.

Work Schedule Requirements

Regular Business Hours - M-F 8:30-4:30

Evening and Weekend work is required as determined by the director.

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break. You will have the opportunity to participate in our retirement plan from day one, and after one year of employment, the college contributes depending on your service years.
