We are looking for an Assistant Controller to work for our Cleveland client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.
Responsibilities:
Assist Controller with forecasting requirements, budget preparation and analysis of variances
Perform budget vs actual reconciliations and assess out of pocket expenses, time incurred compared to budgets
Provide leadership to the accounting team: coaches and mentors team members on achieving goals and developing necessary skills that drive results; Identifies team goals and evaluates team progress
Establish, streamline and manage month-close process, review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, to ensure that the company accounts are closed in a timely fashion and in accordance with GAAP
Provide accounting expertise for the growing organization by partnering closely with internal, cross-company, and external stakeholders including lenders and Big 4 auditors
Participate in process improvements, financial system enhancements and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
6+ years of accounting experience
Sound knowledge of full cycle accounting and a strong awareness of generally accepted accounting principles
Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience managing and mentoring teams
Ability to challenge and improve existing processes through automation and redesign
Strong organization and analytical skills with an eye for detail
